We Explore - History

Our school opened in 1955 in the then expanding new suburb of Pascoe Vale.  The school grew rapidly to a population of 800 students.  The school community was made up of young families and he staff members were also young enthusiastic teachers.

In 1975, students in Grade 6 buried a time capsule in what was then the reading pit of a newly built library and in 2000 it was dug up.  A new time capsule has been left to be opened in 2015.

In 1992 the student numbers had dwindled to just over a 100 students. Nearby Merlynston Primary School was closed and that community came to join us.

Since the beginning of the new century our community has undergone a significant transformation.

A complete rebuild and many changes to programs means we are now a multicultural community who work together to build a strong reputation that has seen our student numbers rise to over 400, being one of the largest schools in the district.
